Meghna Joshi, Founder of SWAN (Skilled Workforce Advancing Nation) Livelihood, is a social entrepreneur committed to bridging the systemic gaps in workforce empowerment. Through customized training programs and capacity-building sessions, her work creates an ecosystem of sustainable livelihood opportunities especially for communities traditionally excluded from access and opportunity.
Through the #MyPieceForChange campaign, we invite people to share their unique contributions to collective transformation. This series exists to honor their stories, amplify their voices, and connect them with a wider community of like-minded peers. Today, we’re honored to introduce our Changeworker of the Week: Meghna Joshi whom we had the pleasure of interviewing for this special spotlight.
What’s your piece for change?
Believe in YOURSELF! - like a diamond shaped under pressure, your inner light is unbreakable and brilliant.
What inspired you to begin this work or stay committed to it?
I am a social entrepreneur working to empower the workforce through customized training programs and capacity-building sessions, creating an ecosystem of sustainable livelihood opportunities under my social enterprise, SWAN (Skilled Workforce Advancing Nation) Livelihood. My journey in the development sector made me aware of significant gaps in skilling and livelihoods, and the need to systematically bridge these gaps inspired me to start this initiative.
What’s one hope or vision you hold for the future?
The hope I hold for the future is to build a sustainable approach towards empowering communities through innovation at scale — ensuring that no one is left behind.
What support or connection are you currently looking for?
I believe collaboration is the true key to success. By building on each other’s strengths rather than competing, we can create a much greater collective impact and move forward together. At this stage, I am looking for support and connections with like-minded organizations, mentors, investors and networks that can help amplify our efforts, co-create sustainable solutions, and scale our impact
What’s one thing about your field or topic you wish more people knew, considered, or acted on?
One thing I wish more people considered in this field is the importance of trust-building and collaboration. Lasting impact comes not from quick fixes, but from consistently digging deeper into the root problems rather than rushing into solutions.
