Tending to Ecological Grief Workshop

Date & time: Wed, Oct 21, 2026 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM CEST (Europe/Zurich)

Have you been feeling overwhelmed, paralysed or a sense of despair about environmental degradation, biodiversity loss and climate breakdown? There’s a name for this feeling: ecological grief.

Studies show a majority of adults and youth are concerned about the planetary crisis. Yet despite this, many of us keep our grief to ourselves. We don’t know what to do, or where to turn, to process our feelings. We may even question if we can afford to feel grief when there’s so much urgent work to do.

But when we don’t process our grief, it can get stuck inside of us, hindering our ability to live fully and show up to the causes that matter to us.

In this workshop, we’ll explore what ecological grief is, practices that support us to be with it, and why tending grief is necessary for us to stay connected to our purpose and engage with our work.

This workshop is for you if:

  • you’re feeling the emotional weight of what’s happening to Earth
  • you feel isolated by, or ashamed about, your feelings
  • your ability to connect with your purpose and show up to your work is jeopardized by heavy and difficult emotions
  • you’re curious to learn how pain and sadness can transmute into meaningful action

Co-hosted by Nora Wilhelm, Founder of Parayma, and Kira Walker, Grief tender and writer
