Changeworker of the Week #35: Christine Amour-Levar: Mobilising Capital, Courage, and Community for Climate Action
May 15, 2026
For Christine Amour-Levar, change happens when people, capital, and courage move together.
As a social entrepreneur, climate investor, and founder of multiple global initiatives, her work sits at the intersection of climate action, women’s leadership, and systems change.
Through initiatives like Investors for Climate, Her Planet Earth, and Women Beyond Limits, Christine is building ecosystems where awareness doesn’t stop at conversation, it becomes action.
Through the #MyPieceForChange campaign, we invite people to share their unique contributions to collective transformation. This series exists to honor their stories, amplify their voices, and connect them with a wider community of like-minded peers. Today, we’re honored to introduce our Changeworker of the Week: Christine Amour-Levar whom we had the pleasure of interviewing for this special spotlight.
What’s your piece for change?
My piece for change is to help mobilise people, capital and courage towards a more just, sustainable and inclusive world. Through my work with Investors for Climate, Her Planet Earth and Women Beyond Limits, I focus on accelerating climate solutions, empowering women and creating communities that turn awareness into meaningful action.
What inspired you to begin this work or stay committed to it?
I have always believed that adventure, storytelling and community can be powerful forces for change. My expeditions to some of the most remote places on Earth showed me both the fragility of our planet and the extraordinary resilience of women and communities on the frontlines of climate change. That has stayed with me and continues to fuel my commitment.
What’s one hope or vision you hold for the future?
My hope is for a future where capital flows more intentionally towards solutions that protect nature, support vulnerable communities and create long-term prosperity. I envision a world where women are not just included in the conversation, but are leading it - as investors, founders, activists, storytellers and decision-makers.
What support or connection are you currently looking for?
I am always looking to connect with values-aligned investors, founders, philanthropists, policymakers, storytellers and changemakers who believe in collaboration over competition. I am especially interested in partnerships that help scale climate solutions, support women-led initiatives and build bridges between capital and impact.
What’s one thing about your field or topic you wish more people knew, considered, or acted on?
I wish more people understood that climate change is not only an environmental issue - it is also a human, economic and gender issue. The climate crisis affects livelihoods, migration, health, food systems and women’s safety. At the same time, climate solutions represent one of the greatest investment and innovation opportunities of our time.
What practices, tools, or resources have supported you most on your changework journey?
Nature has been one of my greatest teachers. Expeditions have taught me resilience, humility, teamwork and the importance of staying calm in uncertainty. I also draw strength from writing, storytelling, women’s circles, mentoring, and building communities where people feel seen, supported and inspired to act. Books, reflection, movement and time outdoors remain essential practices for me.
Can you share a moment or experience that deeply shaped the way you approach change today?
One of the most formative experiences for me was leading all-female expedition teams through extreme environments to raise awareness and funds for women’s causes. In those moments, you see what happens when people step outside their comfort zones and work together towards something bigger than themselves. It taught me that change does not always begin with certainty - it often begins with courage, trust and one bold step forward.
What collective shift do you believe is needed for meaningful change to happen and what gives you hope that it’s possible?
We need to move from awareness to action, and from individual efforts to collective systems change. That means aligning capital, policy, entrepreneurship, philanthropy and community around shared solutions. What gives me hope is the number of people I meet every day - especially women, young leaders and purpose-driven investors - who are no longer waiting for permission to lead.
How do you take care of your own energy or wellbeing while doing this work?
I try to stay connected to nature, movement, family and meaningful friendships. I have learned that doing impact work requires stamina, and that rest is not separate from leadership - it is part of it. I also find energy in community, in mentoring others, and in remembering that none of us are meant to carry this work alone.
